[Opening Speech] 2nd International Women’s Platform Conference

Dear comrades, dear women,

Welcome to the Anti-NATO and Anti-War Panel of the World Anti-Imperialist Women’s Platform.

We are gathered here today at a time when humanity is passing through a historic turning point. We had hoped to meet face-to-face in conference halls; that was our plan. However, given the circumstances of the Third World War we are currently experiencing, no matter how much we wanted to, we were unable to gather in person or fill those halls. Welcome, everyone, to this online event.

Wars are escalating and occupations are spreading across the globe, condemning millions of people to poverty, displacement, and hunger. While imperialist powers are making the people pay the price for the economic and political crisis they are facing, women are bearing the heaviest burden of this destruction.

For these reasons, a Women’s Platform was established under the umbrella of the World Anti-Imperialist Platform. We have gathered here to hold the second meeting of this platform, which was founded in Caracas in October 2025.

War is not waged with bombs alone. War is the further exploitation of women’s labor, the deepening of poverty, the increase of violence, the pillaging of living spaces, and the stealing of the future of the peoples. Today, from Palestine to Kurdistan, from Sudan to Yemen, from Ukraine to many regions of the world, millions of women live face to face with the consequences of imperialist wars.

One of the most important military apparatuses of this global war is NATO. NATO is not a security provider for the peoples, but an imperialist war organization that brings occupation, militarism, and destruction. Increasing armament policies, military bases, and interventions confront the peoples of the world with new devastation. Struggling against this is not only to defend peace, but to defend the lives, freedom, and future of women.

Women are not only victims of wars, but also vanguards of resistance. Women resisting occupation in Palestine, defending life in Rojava, rising up for freedom in Iran, struggling against male violence and plunder in Latin America, and meeting in strikes for labor and equality in Europe are expanding a common international struggle.

Today, this panel is also a part of the same common will. Our aim is not only to expose wars, but to discuss ways of common struggle against imperialism, militarism, and misogynistic policies, to share our experiences, and to strengthen our international solidarity.

Because we know that no woman can be liberated alone. No people can build true freedom upon the captivity of other peoples. Women’s struggle for liberation is international; it is an inseparable whole with the anti-imperialist struggle, the labor struggle, and the freedom struggle of the peoples.

With this conviction, we believe that the discussions we will hold here today will further strengthen our common struggle, and we thank all speakers and participants who will contribute.

Long Live Women’s International Solidarity!

Long Live the Anti-Imperialist Struggle!

Long Live the Solidarity of the Peoples and Women’s Struggle for Freedom!
