Hello dear comrades,
We greet you from Istanbul/Bakırköy Prison, where we were illegally arrested and brought after a house raid in the early hours of the morning.
Our world, going through war, destruction, and a massive collapse, is fighting a great battle for survival. The imperialists are making the world’s working class, oppressed peoples, women, and youth pay the price for this war, which they do not hesitate to drag into rapid destruction. In the face of the oppression, detentions, arrests, and obstacles all over the world, they are met with various forms of rebellion and uprisings that are sweeping across continents.
In such a historical period, those who know that they can only temporarily obstruct the NATO summit to be held in Türkiye by imprisoning us have arrested us with an indictment that is a complete lapse of reason. The extent of the attacks of this regime, which does not recognize its own laws, is an indication of their fear. This fear is so great that the reasons given for our arrest are our participation in the March 8th International Working Women’s Day, our struggle for a life without violence on November 25th in Türkiye where an average of 3 women are killed every day, our solidarity with imprisoned women, and our participation in women’s actions attended by hundreds and thousands of women, which do not violate the right to assembly and march.
The fact that 6 of our 8 arrested comrades are women and that the main element in our indictments is focused on our women’s struggle also proves the fear felt towards women. However, no matter what they do, they will not be able to stop our struggle. We are overcoming these walls that imprison us with the awareness that we will surely win. With our stubbornness, our rebellion, and all our revolutionary enthusiasm, we salute our World Anti-Imperialist Women’s Platform.
